Senator McGuire’s Humboldt Holiday Food Drive
State Senate Leader Mike McGuire has teamed up with Food For People, KHUM radio and six local high schools for the ninth annual Humboldt Holiday Food Drive.
High School students organize their own fundraisers, collecting food and financial donations from their community starting November 4 and culminating with the Drop Off & Donate event at Safeway in Eureka on December 12 from 3-6 pm. The high schools that collect the most non-perishable food and the most funds each are awarded the “Golden Can” trophy.
In 2023, the 8th annual Humboldt Holiday Food Drive collected a staggering 30,000 pounds of food and more than $52,000—all in support of the life-changing work of Food for People. This year, students and the community are preparing for an even bigger response from their neighbors. You can contribute through each school’s fundraising page below.
